The debate at this month’s UBS Investor Forum focused on the recent market sell-off in global risk assets and the steep drop in crude oil prices. Managers discussed a variety of causes for sudden investor nervousness. They agreed that the US economy continues to be on a sustained growth path while investors are awaiting possible moves by OPEC to stem the fall in oil prices.

“Having our external partners provide direct input on our House View is a crucial part of our investment process, enabling us to develop a well-balanced investment view. Our House View thus provides our clients with access not only to the extensive expertise available at UBS, but also to that of its extensive external partner network. We believe this makes UBS unique among wealth managers,” says Mark Haefele, Global Chief Investment Officer.
