This mentored trading strategy session with Richard looks at the 80-20 Trade. It goes by this name based on the percentage chance of it working (but of course should be taken with a pinch of salt). The basic idea is for the market to open outside of value, reenter with 2-3 TPOs back within, and return to trade through the entire market profile value area.

Richard uses Eurostoxx and the Dax as examples for where this trading strategy has recently worked and why. We see buying came into the Dax below the previous day’s low and once entering back within value, traded back through, filling out the poor value area.

The entry and risk management is most important with this trade, and strategic positions can be taken around the value area low and / or initial balance high.
